Upgrade On-Call

Upgrade’s On Call program is a service available to families who are receiving services from a “Wrap Around” agency.  A wraparound agency is an organization that coordinates all levels of care that a family needs. Families must be referred to an agency through the New York State Office of Mental Health.

The seven agencies with which Upgrade participates are: Child and Adolescent Treatment Services, Child and Family Services, Gateway-Longview, Hopevale, Joan A. Male, Mid-Erie Counseling and Treatment Services, and New Directions Youth and Family Services. These agencies provide over forty different types of care.

Upgrade is a provider of three education-oriented services:

Teacher Aides
A one-on-one service is provided to assist students with behavioral issues.  This service is offered to help prevent behavioral problems from interfering with academic performance or resulting in disciplinary actions against the child.  Teacher aides work as a team with the student’s teachers, the student's family members, and other supports to develop and implement a strength-based behavior modification plan to stabilize and improve academic functioning.

Tutoring Services
This service is available for youth who need academic support in the community and are enrolled in either regular or special education.  This service may also be provided to a youth who is enrolled, suspended, or preparing for the GED.

Community Interpreter Services
Services are provided for a child and family in the family's preferred language.  This service includes assistance for hearing impaired families.  Community interpretation assists the family by accessing system and community services, and overcoming any other daily language barriers.  As a provider, our goal is to build the skills of the youth/parent in order to increase the family’s independence and to prepare the family to function without outside services.
